The Jewish Theological Seminary, for example, which did not ordain women until 1986, now has a student body that is one-third female. In this CBS News special, a wide variety of women in ministry discuss their experiences and triumphs, as well as their frustrations with old prejudices that remain. Marissa Lewis, a Jewish girl, prepares for her Bat Mitzvah, a ceremony to formally mark the obligation to observe the commandments. The rabbi in her church says the male ceremony has always overshadowed the female ceremony.

3. Women in Ministry Share a Vision (03:24)

Four women from different religious denominations speak of their hopes and visions for the future. Although they may have different religious views, they share a common goal of helping others and reducing racism and violence.

4. Catholic Community Services Helps Women Gain Employment (02:03)

A Catholic Community Services program called "Steps to Success" helps women get off welfare and gain employment. A Catholic female minister teaches job interview skills to a room full of women.

5. Hospital Chaplain Counsels HIV Positive Patient (02:19)

A female hospital chaplain helps abused women and women who are HIV positive. She feels she can identify with many of the issues women in the hospital may have.

6. Women Describe Call to Ministry (02:57)

Four women describe why they chose ministry as a profession. They briefly explain their schooling and preparation for the job. Each woman has a strong love of God and tremendous compassion for others.

7. Bishop of Missouri Shares her Struggle in Ministry (01:51)

The bishop of Missouri oversees more than nine hundred United Methodist churches. She credits the secular women's movement with helping her get this position.

8. Seminarians Discuss Role of Women in Ministry (05:10)

A group of seminarians discuss their call to ministry. Some felt a very natural call to ministry because they had family members in ministry. A few share their beliefs about how women can pastor as well as men.

9. God as a Pronoun (03:01)

The group leader asks the seminarians which pronoun they use to refer to God. All of the seminarians share their take on the subject. The film concludes with Marissa leading the Jewish congregation during her Bat Mitzvah.
