Multimedia Teen Pregnancy

Utilizing videos, colorful graphics, and an interactive format, users learn about the realities of becoming a parent before they’re ready.

Interviews with teen moms and dads get across the message that life changes drastically once a baby enters the picture. Teen parents discuss their difficulties trying to complete their educations and their difficulties trying to support their child without an education. They talk about why they started having sex at a young age, the effect parenthood has had on their lives, and the effect it will have on their futures.

Users learn about available birth control options, including the most effective method—abstinence. Doctors and counselors dispel birth control myths (including the ever-popular "you can’t get pregnant the first time"). In addition, teens learn the importance of facing the situation if they suspect they might be pregnant. They learn that the earlier they start planning for the future, the easier it will be. Young mothers discuss the role (or lack of role) played by the father of their child. Users become aware of the options that are available and the importance of developing a positive and responsible attitude if faced with the situation.
