It shows his desperate attempt to free himself from his demon; tells us about Coleridge’s time and friends—especially his relationship with Wordsworth—and about the tortured life transformed in his subconscious into "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." Coleridge and his poem are brought to magnificent life in this dramatic film by Ken Russell which stars David Hemmings. (52 minutes)
