Starting in the 1930s, thousands of children across Australia were forcibly taken from their families simply because they were Aboriginal. In this award-winning program, the tragic story is told of a state-sanctioned attempt to assimilate and, thereby, eradicate a race by segregating its full-blooded members and marrying its “half-castes” into the white population for “biological absorption.” Fueled by eugenics theories, the Australian government transported “half-caste” children to far-flung missions for eventual adoption, leaving those behind to die out.
