The National Music Museum at The University of South Dakota includes more than 11,000 European, non-Western, and American instruments. This program will open eyes—and ears—to the world of music through priceless historical musical instruments, including a rare violin, cello, guitar, and mandolin by Stradivari; a 16th-century cello by Andrea Amati; a Beethoven-era grand piano; and saxophones by Adolphe Sax, as well as a monster Thai drum and cart and an Indonesian gamelan. Over-the-shoulder Civil War brasses, great American guitars, and a “Raincatcher” sousaphone are also featured. One 28-minute video.
