Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is a city of contrasts. In this program, a young woman named Mireia shows off her hometown—the Gothic quarter, Gaudí’s Parque Güell, the Olympic village, and the famous street called La Rambla. Afterward, she invites viewers to join her at theater rehearsal, where her amateur troupe is preparing for the musical La Moulin Rouge. Mireia also shares her desire to become a screenwriter and her concern about the future of Catalonian, a language in which she is also fluent. A viewable/printable instructor’s guide is available online. (Spanish, 11 minutes)
