Based upon the Academic Success video series developed at the Academic Skills Center at Dartmouth College, this multimedia CD-ROM engages emerging learners and motivates students who recognize the value of improving their study skills. The content and design are appropriate for both introductory and remedial purposes and can be easily integrated into classroom, computer lab, or tutorial settings. By entering the "What’s Your Problem?" section and answering a series of multiple choice self-evaluation questions, students determine how to best use the PowerLearning program to focus on their specific needs. Program sections include Reading Improvement (Read for Speed and Get to the Point), Note-Taking (the Cornell Note-Taking System), Strategic Learning (Expose, Review, and Practice), Time Management (Strategies and Tools of Time Management), and Stress Management (What Is Stress and Strategies for Managing Stress). This program features numerous video clips, interactive features, and printable takeaways to create an entertaining format for learning strategies.
