Do more than tell your students or employees about fall protection—show them! This video will help to train workers in safely performing some of the most hazardous jobs in home building. Designed for use with the NAHB-OSHA Fall Protection Handbook, the program offers demonstrations of safe work practices and equipment operations that satisfy OSHA standards. Featured topics include the use of ladders, guardrails, personal fall arrest systems, slide guards, safety nets, aerial and forklift baskets, and other safety equipment. Viewers will learn key accident-prevention measures to put in place when framing and roofing—such as proper management of rope slack and the creation of controlled-access zones—as well as the best ways to communicate warnings and worksite hazards to the entire crew. Correlates to all National CTE Organizational Standards (including the provisions of the Perkins Act). (31 minutes)
