More than 13 million people live in Chongqing, a city most Americans have never heard of. Less cosmopolitan than Shanghai or Hong Kong, it embodies all the hallmarks of China’s gains and growing pains. This program follows a cast of characters in and around Chongqing, examining the impact of capitalism on religion, sexuality, traditional values, and political attitudes in the burgeoning metropolis.
