Changing Faces

In the U.S., HIV is rapidly becoming a disease of diversity. In this program, Dr. Anthony Fauci, of the National Institutes of Health; Dr. Helene Gayle, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; clinical psychologist Gail Wyatt, of the UCLA AIDS Institute; and others address the demographic shift that shows the bulk of new infections occurring among women with low incomes and the black and Hispanic communities, while discussing medical advances that are lengthening patients’ lives. In addition, case studies reveal the impact of HIV on people who live with the hope that a cure will soon be found—before it is too late. A Discovery Channel Production. (51 minutes)
