Mark’s Story: Struggling with Obesity

The strain of obesity on the heart can greatly increase the risk of premature death—and at more than 500 pounds, cardiac nurse Mark Raffaele is more aware of that than most people. Unable to decrease his weight to a healthy level, Mark opts to undergo a drastic combination of stomach stapling and gastric bypass surgery.
