Hamlet’s Soliloquies: Perfecting Perfection

In this program, award-winning actor Tim Pigott-Smith leads a workshop with several graduates from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts on three of Hamlet’s soliloquies: “O, that this too too solid flesh would melt” (Act I, Scene 2), “Now I am alone” (Act II, Scene 2), and “Now might I do it pat” (Act III, Scene 3). With its emphasis on close reading of the text and modulation of tone, volume, and rhythm, this program serves as an excellent teaching resource for any drama production. Produced by the Open University. (66 minutes)
