The program focuses on two pioneering efforts: the race between Dr. Mary Claire King and Dr. Mark Skolnick, founder of Myriad Genetics, to isolate the gene linked to breast cancer, and Dr. Brian Druker’s work that eventually led to the anti-cancer drug Gleevec, which cures chronic myeloid leukemia.
