Limestone has a great advantage in that its landforms are produced by only one process: solution. This fact can be exploited to provide information on one of the central problems of physical geography: the rate at which landforms develop. In effect, a limestone landscape provides a kind of outdoor laboratory in which simple experiments can be carried out. (20 minutes)
