Pioneers in the field of pediatric medicine are uncovering many exciting new treatments, but it always takes courage to be the very first patient. This program spotlights doctors at Children’s Memorial—a constituent part of the Children’s Memorial Institute for Education and Research, one of just five U.S. institutions dedicated exclusively to pediatric research—who are leading the way. Patients in clinical trials include a three-year-old boy with neuroblastoma and a two-year-old girl with a giant nevus. Plastic surgeon Frank Vicari is featured. (56 minutes)
