Sine, cosine, and tangent functions are introduced through an examination of their graphs on the Cartesian plane. To develop a general equation for sinusoidal waves, the characteristics of amplitude and period are examined. The program shows that the graph for cosine can be transformed into a sine graph through a simple phase shift. The asymptotes of the tangent graph are discussed, and the series concludes with a brief exploration of some applications of sinusoidal waves in physics and electronics. 6-part series, 10 minutes each.
