Assuming that viewers are familiar with basic factoring, this lesson focuses on the establishment of a quadratic equation from the description of a given problem. Several examples are presented, including one in which the two roots of a quadratic are equal; a final example shows that factoring is practical only in certain circumstances. (10 minutes)
