Cataracts and Vision Problems

This program explains what cataracts are and how cataract surgery can improve vision in over 95% of cases. The small-incision approach to cataract surgery, using ultrasound vibrations, is explained. We meet several patients who have had the surgery, and learn about how their vision problems affected their everyday life and what results they’ve achieved as a result of their surgeries. The program also covers other eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. The program concludes by stressing the importance of regular eye exams, which are the only way to catch a vision problem before it worsens. (18 minutes)
