Meteorology

Weather on Earth consists of patterns of heat and cold, humidity and drought. What causes these variations in weather? This program explains the fronts, high and low pressures, and air mass movements that are responsible for weather conditions. Scientists are continuously developing more and more sophisticated techniques to forecast the weather; if forecasts are not always accurate, that is largely due to the complexity of the phenomena in question. We are able to see this complexity in a guided tour of the various weather systems on the planet. (23 minutes)
