Cuba: Holding Back the Tide

In 1959, Fidel Castro led a revolution that reshaped Cuba. Today, after the collapse of the communist trading block, Cuba faces a new crisis. This program examines the problems that face the Cuban people and their government and, in light of these problems, asks "what is keeping Castro in power?" In addition to examining Cuba’s economy and the government’s initiatives, the program visits a hospital that offers a painful metaphor for the decay of Castro’s Cuba. (30 minutes)
