This program looks back at a hundred years of love and the changing fortunes of the institution of marriage. The program chronicles the many ways people flirted, wooed, and courted in the 20th century. It looks at some unusual practices, including Moonie-style mass weddings, and speaks with numerous people, including a couple married for fifty years, a couple who agreed to years of celibacy before their mass marriage, and a G.I. bride who married an American serviceman because he spoke like the film stars she’d grown up watching in movies.
