This program looks at the evolution of war in the 20th century, from the airplanes of World War I which didn’t have parachutes, to Mussolini’s subjugation of Ethiopia with the latest technology, to the role of the tank to oppress ordinary citizens from the French Resistance, to Prague in 1968, to Tiananmen Square. The program features a 101-year-old survivor of World War I, who bears witness to the horrors of trench warfare. (48 minutes)
