Catchment Studies

This program follows the route taken by rainwater through a number of different catchments and evaluates the response of these catchments to a rainfall event—a response represented by the flood hydrograph. The program was photographed in the Santa Clara valley in southern California and in Wales. It emphasizes the tools and techniques necessary for a catchment study and subsequently compares the effect of vegetation on the discharge of two rivers by using the measurement techniques taught in the program.
