Katy Grannan (13:48)

The photographer travels to Las Vegas for photo shoots with a Marilyn Monroe impersonator and Melissa Weiss. She discusses the collaborative nature of photography, choosing difficult subject matter, and making “The Nine.”

Lynn Hershman Leeson (13:02)

The artist and filmmaker traces her career back to the 1960s counterculture. She discusses exhibits at the Dante Hotel with Eleanor Coppola, the emergence of her alter ego Roberta Breitmore, and the interactive technology behind “Lorna” and “VertiGhost.”

Creative Growth Art Center (12:52)

Oakland’s nonprofit organization provides materials, studios and gallery space for artists with disabilities. Director Tom Di Maria discusses the organization’s roots and mission, and art as a method of empowerment. Judith Scott, Dan Miller and other participants expand the notion of who can be an artist.
