PTSD (02:11)

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is the re-experiencing of trauma through thoughts and dreams. Those who do not receive help or support after a trauma are more likely to develop PTSD. Most people will experience some form of trauma by the time they are 18. Youth share their traumatic events.

Oftentimes, individuals will engage in poor behavior as a result of a trauma. Several youth discuss their behavioral issues. A person needs support when he or she has experienced trauma.

Several youth express their feelings about drugs and alcohol and what they do to handle stress. See examples of ways to deal with a traumatic experience. The best way to cope with trauma is to acknowledge the impact of the event, face your feelings, and take action.
